Actually what I want to say was
1. Shrek being the first movie with fractured fairy tale story line is great because it's the first. The first time you tell someone a joke it's hella fnny.
2.Hoodwinked seems to shine less because after Shrek 2, the "joke" gets old. The third time you tell somene the "joke" it gets less and ess funny

i havent been able to check out the trailer but it would be interesting if this gets a wide enough release. Question is whether the Weinstein company can afford a wide release and the related marketing costs. They have supposedly got about $500million in equity and are looking to raise the same through vendor advances and debt but no idea if thats done yet.
Hoodwinked must have been budgeted at $50million atleast. So the key question is if they are willing to throw another $25million to market it and open in a 1500+ screens.
Personally unless they think they are sure to crack $100million it would be a cut your lossed kind of deal. Especially if they treat it like a Shrek rip off.

Just finally seen this tialer on the official site:
http://www.hoodwinkedthemovie.com/
While it looks like a well written Shrek-derived spin on the Red-Riding Hood story, the animation is atrocious!
This they're putting up on the big screen? DTV at best and even then that's being nice.
Seems the Weinsteins don't know decent animation, after that Tom Thumb/Thumbelina rubbish they offloaded onto DVD a while back.
