The Adventures of Mark Twain, which contained probably one of the creepiest scenes in the history of cinema (though Vinton maintains the scene is “pulled so far out of context -- that’s why Youtubers are saying, “Oh this is horrible!”)

Ohhh, yah: Technically, the scene in question is Twain describing a scene from his dark-cynical "The Mysterious Stranger", where the Devil wanders up to medieval England for some mischief, and, letting a few characters in on the secret, gives his own opinion on Creation.
It's certainly the directorial artsy-fartsiest scene in Vinton's movie, which is otherwise a fairly commercial mainstream version of Twain's lighter stories, with the usual Vinton art-festival indulgences.

So why do we keep seeing THAT scene "pulled so far out of context" on YouTube, and not the Jumping Frog of Calaveras scene?
Probably for the same reason edgelord-Millennials keep posting the boat scene from Willy Wonka, claiming that every movie matinee they saw as kids was "dark and twisted nightmare-fodder".
