I like Man Of Steel-->World's Finest (Which could hopefully cameo the other heroes that Batman is like "watching")-->Justice League-->Solo films/Man Of Steel II. That would be the best and hopefully most successful if JL and WF are done right.

On the other hand, many early tweets from critics have suggested it's a good, but not great, film, with good characters, lots of humor, big action, and fun for DC fans.

I've heard it's very similar to the Justice League cartoon series in terms of humor and action.

But I also think at this point some critics are going despise Snyder regardless of what kind of film he makes. Watchmen was not "turned into a video game" by Snyder, nor was it made into a "two and a half hour action scene" which were both accusations I saw thrown at Snyder in reviews that weren't even for that film!

Word of mouth may end up being key to whether or not this "version" of their shared universe will continue on as they're clearly not going to get any help from the critics. I received an email from WB's marketing and they were pushing really hard that audience feedback they've received thus far is 96% positive, so they're trying desperately to get the jump on word of mouth.

I'm still concerned that it may be a case of too little, too late and they might unfortunately consider reboot (which they may have a saving grace in Crisis and/or Flashpoint, but would nonetheless be absolutely terrible).

And the RT score is... 40.

No surprise. This film was never going to get too many good reviews. Everyone agrees it's better than BvS and SS, though, and that'll have to be good enough. I found things to like in those strongly flawed films, and I will bend over backwards to enjoy this one, too. ;)

At least we still have the DC TV shows.

So with whatever good reviews it gets comparing it to the Justice League cartoon, we're back to "DC Animation gets it because the print-comic people are in charge, the live-action movies don't."
A compliment often given to Warner/DC's you-know-who rivals.

Oh, the box-office analysis for Justice League is going to be absolutely terrifying.

Already there's trouble on the horizon as it reportedly only drew $13 million on the Thursday overnight. That's generally respectable (exemplified by Thor: Ragnarok making $14.5 million two weeks before). But $13 million is concerning, especially since Batman v Superman made $27.7 million on it's Thursday overnight.

The word is that the weekend gross expectation has dropped from an initial estimate of $110 million to $95-$97 million. That's worrisome.

Saw it tonight. I make no apologies for this... I loved it.

Forget your feelings abut Batman V Superman. Forget the production stories, and the two directors. Forget about the box office projections. And for gosh sake, forget about the critics, who have been lying in wait, ready to hammer this film. Just see it for yourselves.

Sure, I could critique aspects of it. But I don't feel like it. I really enjoyed the film, and thought it was a far more promising start to an integrated DC film universe than BvS. It may not be a hit with the mass audience, but this old, biased DC fanboy found plenty to enjoy.

Why, when I read "old, biased DC fanboy", did I hear Gene Hackman...? ;)

When will movie companies create new characters?
