Okay, I'm closing this.

That poll just doesn't make sense.

Please continue the Madagascar discussions in the Madagascar thread:

I caught the Madagascar Penguins short last night on the W&G movie and thought it was hysterical.

BUT...they still seemed to play out the same joke, which made me think that while they are the breakout characters from the movie, their appeal could be limited.

I'm interesting to see what they come up with for M2 or the rumored stand along DTV, but I fear that they may have played out their act.

For those who have not seen it, the short is included in the Madagascar DVD out today. Let's keep this thread alive by saying what we think of the disc here. I'm picking mine up later.

Yeah, the short made me laugh. Did they give Rico hair though? He looked different.

Chicken Little and Madagascar get noms

Post by Dacey » November 28th, 2005, 5:42 pm

No nods to "Wallace and Gromit" or "Corpse Bride", two films that are both going up for the animated feature Oscar.

EDIT: Ack! Could a mod edit the title of the thread? I made it too long. Sorry.

Even though I loved the Christmas short I just want to edit and say that Rico wasn't played by JK this time but some guy named John Dimaggio.

Oh well.....*sighs*

The Madagacer penguins in an X-mas Caper

Post by Lino » January 13th, 2006, 5:27 pm

If youve seen the acclaimed ware-rabbit or if you own the madagascar DVD you've probably seen The Madagascar penguins in and xmas caper. I love CGI, I luv penguins, Madagascar and every 1 luv christmas right, so whats not to like. Hard to say, but it wasnt as golden as there role in madagacar. Im not sure if any1 else noticed this but in the orignal madagacar kowalski (or rico, I forgot) was a nomal, relitivly speechless penguin that only really said "well this sucks". However, in the short hes a crazy, scarred, dinomite obbsessed "Ka-Boom" bird. I wasnt thrilled about it because I think it would have been better with the chimps and without the old lady. All and all not to bad though.

Rico didn't talk in the movie- that was another penguin. But yeah, I did like how his character was more pronounced in the short.
