Exactly. If they gave this kind of marketing to their 2-D movies, they would have made a lot more money.Ben wrote:Gawd, they are desperate for this to be a hit.
The more I hear about it, though, the lighter it seems. Sounds like a frantically over the top movie that will date faster than a DreamWorks offering.
And, really, is playing about with The Lion King the ONLY thing Disney can do any more?

Wow. That is really something. Really Something. Really Something Else. Really. Really Else. Something. Something Else. Else. Really. Television.
To be fair, that movie was pretty cute when looking at it in context. Just one question; how could a fox eat a whole dog and cat?

While I don't think this will be a classic, I do think it'll be lots of fun.
And I have to say, I really sympathize with the people who worked on this feature. They must be under a ridiculous amount of pressure. It's like it's all up them to save the company. Even if this movie does well, how can ONE movie save the Disney company? It wasn't JUST Oliver, Little Mermaid or Beauty that saved Disney back in the 80's, but a combination.
Still I know that there's that whole issue with Pixar and everything...well ask yourself this: What if CL flops...and Cars does too? Who'll be the winner then???
(Even though I think this movie will do reasonably well, I really do think people are tiring of CG AND the overused comedy/adventure plots.)

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I definetely don't think it is. I think CL will do well, but won't be a monster hit. Neither will Cars. It's been about seven years of the CGI comedy and there needs to be something different.Question raised: Is 2d dead?
