Very happy to hear about Inside Out's warm reception! (Although it does kind of pour salt on DWA's wounds. :? )

But in general really happy that Disney is doing so well now. :)

So stoked! This is as close to independent movie art as you can get in a mainstream animated film. (Incredibles was the last time Pixar came that close.) :)

I'm picturing pouring salt on Turbo, which is just as appropriate an image.

And it's a Pixar film, and the Oscars have talked about going back to five deserving Best Picture nominees after last year's Birdman vs. Boyhood disaster...

Why Pete Docter almost abandoned the project:

There was a debate over just why this year's Oscar ceremony was the most disastrously low-rated in years:
Of course, the knee-jerk "It's too long, we need an edgier host, no Sound of Music numbers, etc." folks spoke up without having seen it, but the chairman did go on record in a statement a few weeks later as saying they are "seriously considering the possibility" of reducing the Best Picture nominees back to five for the '16 awards.

...You KNOW why. :x

Looks like I'll be going to the insider event after all. Canada is getting screenings too, and my cousin wants to go. He happens to be a newspaper film critic based in Ottawa, and is here my hometown for the week. Ticket price was $23 each, not bad for a special screening event, plus goodies.

So, I guess I'll be seeing this on Tuesday! :)
