Yes! You guys will love the HB Beanstalk special. Love that this has finally been unearthed, though a shame they can't do an HB double Bill Blu-ray for this and Invitation To The Dance.

Whoopee!!!!
FINALLY. Aside from my own frustration, I've lived in shame in Ben's eyes for not having seen or owned Jack and The Beanstalk. I have been tempted to pick up the LaserDisc if something didn't get announced soon. So, this is good news.
And I'm amazed it's taken this long for Atom Ant and Secret Squirrel to come out, though I've basically been satisfied having their LDs.

Wait...there's an LD of the Beanstalk special!?
I have a 16mm print that never gets watched as it's currently too much hassle to rig up the projector, while I do have a fairly clean if slightly crumpled VHS. An LD would be neato, though, even now, considering that we're sadly only likely to get the same composite video master on a DVD.

I'm quite sure I've seen it on eBay. It is listed in the LD Database online, but no cover is shown.

No offense intended, but it was torture for me to get through the original miniseries.

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!
I haven't seen this since the 80s on TV during the school holidays! Oh the VHS tapes I wish I still had: this tape also had Twice Upon A Time on it...cool double bill! I had a bunch of these that I eventually taped over because I thougt they'd be on again and I could retape them with our newer, better recorder, but alas many were never on again (I still have a few that didn't get wiped, though I've been lucky to find occasional ones on DVD).
This'll be a blast from the past to add to the list: it's actually, as so many were, an American dub of a European feature, with decent enough animation as I remember it (think Charlotte's Web and the like), a bit like Tubby The Tuba and Spark's Magic Piano. From what I remember the story makes no sense and it's all a bit trippy, and wouldn't be out of place cut down as a segment in Allegro Non Troppo, or on a double bill with Richard Williams' Raggedy Ann And Andy feature.
To be honest, I'd totally forgotten about this one and never thought I'd ever see it again...it's funny how a shot of nostalgia can just zip you back in time and provide an "instant download" to your brain as it opens up information long thought to be lost! I'm sure when I see it the songs will come flooding back into my brain too (there's one about how to spell hippopotamus I think, which was ripped off in a later Care Bears movie of all things)!
