Also, Cinderella has a more contemporary sweep of Lady Di/Teri Garr-style bangs in front than her gathered-up 50's-debutante hairdo, Belle's princess 'do is also a bit more casual and drapey, and Aurora has a less medieval look.
The "redesigning" for character-marketing was what Brenda Chapman threw her biggest Brave meltdown about, apparently thinking Merida was the only one and singled out for being, ick, empowered.

8. Snow White is supposed to be 14 years old

Yep: The character is 10-12 in the original tale, so Disney wanted her to be older but child-like, hence the feminist complaints about "the Betty Boop voice" or the "airheaded" sound of "Oh, what a funny house!"

Again, not mind-blowing, but at least the article didn't go for the cliche's or the cheap deconstruction.
