Disney's Tarzan

Post by Josh » June 14th, 2005, 10:55 am

Now that the film has been released, what is your opinion of Tarzan II? I have yet to see the movie, but I am hoping to see it soon.

I watched it last night and really liked it. I was tempted to choose "excellent," but there's the inevitable comparison to the first Tarzan. We actually watched Tarzan up to the "Son of Man" song, and then switched over to Tarzan II.

The animation was a short notch below feature animation quality. The story was not quite as epic as the first. (I had the same thoughts about Mulan II.)

But considering the budget and production time, for a direct-to-video movie it was excellent.

I liked Tarzan II. I also chose "good". This one is much more "cutesy". Because Tarzan in this movie is a child, there are many other baby animals in the movie which young children will enjoy.

I did enjoy the movie, but did not think it was as good as the first one.

That's pretty poopy, but as you're from the UK, if you have no qualms concerning PAL speedup, why don't you check out the Region 2 copy? It's a 2 disc set, and it's currently in a "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" (along with the not yet released in Region 1 Lilo and Stitch Special Edition) offer across the country, and on Play.com with free delivery:

I hope this helps!

Yeah I think that'd be a good move. Just popped the DVD I had on ebay with Trzan and Jane as a bonus! The following link's some screengrabs of the menus and The Wild trailer/feature on the DVD. If they are breaking any copyright, etc. I'll remove them asap!

We have been reporting that this was a single disc re-issue for a few weeks now.

Ulitmate Disney also reported this back in August/September.

Strange release, but it was clear that if you had the CE of this or Emperor's New Groove, there was little need to upgrade.

Missing the point

Post by JustinWilliams » October 25th, 2005, 2:00 pm

Yeah and as readers of the site we did wonder like many - our comments revolve around the CONTINUED promotion of the item on their own site as a 2 DVD. That's what has consumed us. The tralier [yesterday] still said 2 DVD and banners around their site say 2 DVD. Regardless of Animated News, you still expect the truth from Disney's OWN site. I rememebr the 2 DVD advertising of Hunchback on the site! Wish that had gone ahead....
