Wallace and Gromit
Wallace and Gromit
From TheDigitalBits.com , 29/06/05 --
"One last title from Universal - look for Wallace & Gromit in Three Amazing Adventures on 9/20 (SRP $19.99). The title will include A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave, along with the never-before-seen Cracking Contraptions shorts and a sneak peek at the upcoming theatrical movie Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (due in theaters 9/30)."

This is like the third or fourth release for these shorts on DVD in R1 already!
There was a snapper released way back towards the beginning of DVD, a keepcase released just a few years ago, and now this!
I have to admit this is one collection that I HAVE on LD that I've always wanted to upgrade to DVD but for whatever reasons I never got around to it. I guess I'll get the new version on 9/20 for the original shorts as well as the unseen-in-US shorts. It makes no sense to get the previous DVD even if it readily available through Amazon or Borders. It's obsolete as of 9/20/05.

This is fourth go round on disc for these shorts.
First was Fox Video's LD release, and then there was the Fox DVD port, which contained true 24-frame film print transfers of the three films, but no extras other than the BBC Christmas interstitials.
Second time around was BBC's own release, through Warners, which was basically a port of the PAL master from the UK. What WAS good however, was that we got commentaries and behind the scenes footage, as well as Nick park's early films and the BBC Christmas interstitials (mins one or two redundant repeat ones).
With the W&G movie coming out, I thought it sure that Cracking Contraptions would be making an appearance, or that it would be saved for the W&G movie DVD. It will be interesting to see if this new DreamWorks/Universal disc is going to be the complete package (the featurettes, the Contraption shorts, commentaries and extras from the previous releases) and if they are native 24fps transfers or the PAL conversions.

Cool article about Wallace and Gromit movie
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
