Spider-Man 3

Post by Josh » September 8th, 2005, 3:44 am

If Freeze Dried Movies (http://tinyurl.com/7mmc7) is correct, then the villains for Spider-Man 3 are:

James Franco- Hobgoblin, not Green Goblin II
Thomas Haden Church- Sandman
Topher Grace- Venom(!), not Chameleon

I can hardly wait to see this film. :D

I hope they're right. Venom rules!...Although, it seems a little early. I would've thought they'd introduce him later...4 or 5, I'd say. And Curch to play him? He looks more like Peter than Tobey does!

I'll believe Sandman, though, because rumor has it there's a lot of Sandman concept art hanging around Sony studios. Plus, James Franco looks SO much like him.

I'm glad Venom is being used. That's going to be cool.

Keep in mind, there's nothing in that article that proves it's 100% true.

Yeah, well, Toby Maguire is still way - um - never mind.

Well they have to have Franco again, what with that suggestive ending in Spidey 2....James Franco actually auditioned for Peter Parker originally.
I think he would have been really good too.

Er,

You all realize this is ALL A RUMOR, don't you? It's not even a new one! It's a re-repackaged rumor!

Somehow, I doubt Venom's going to be in the film. The Chameleon and Sandman seem more likely, but as of yet THERE HAS BEEN NO OFFICIAL CONFIRMATIONS OF THE VILLAIN(S) in Spidey 3.

Movie rumor sites exist to spread rumors. Don't take what they say as 100% fact.

So true! I love Venom but like I said, it's still too early for him. I still think Sandman'll be in it, though.

What if "Venom" is the Chameleon in disguise?

That would be so cool. But it's probably not gonna happen any time soon...

GUESS WHO? Spider-Man 3 villain revealed!

Post by GeorgeC » November 6th, 2005, 2:13 am

Yep, a real no-brainer.

Thomas Haden Church (played "Lowell Mather" on "Wings") is The Sandman aka Flint Marko for Spider-Man 3! There should be some VERY interesting visual effects for the character in the next film. I don't think people really realize WHAT you can do with a character literally composed of sand!

A publicity image just got posted at ComicsContinuum.com Church is wearing Sandman's traditional striped shirt.

My guess is that Topher Grace MIGHT be playing Venom but that he'll be the "dark counterpart" (another dweeb/nebbish) to Peter Parker instead of a weight-lifting psychotic ex-news reporter.

As soon as I heard Church's name mentioned, it was pretty much set for me about WHO he'd be playing...
