There are lots of great films nom'd this year; wish I had seen more of them, all I saw was KFP2. Looking forward to hearing the winners.

Great to see Bill Nighy get a nomination for his role in "Arthur Christmas." That really was a great performance.

Also, ten nominations, and Pooh's nowhere to be seen in the Best Picture category. I guess that movie's (already pretty slim) chances of an Oscar nom are pretty much toast now.

Pooh was nominated for directing and writing, which makes its lack of an animated feature nomination even more odd. They definitely really liked it, so why didn't it get nominated in the big category?

Probably the most curious omission is Spielberg in directing.

Just a couple of stray observations:

• genuine shame about Winnie The Pooh, loved that film. It and Arthur are my picks for most underrated films of the year!

• happy that the abysmal Happy Feet Two didn't et nominated for best picture

• spielbergs snub in directing IS odd. With his pedigree you think he'd win!!

• KFP2 will win it all. Let's see them prove me wrong!

Actually...I'm really, really upset to see that "Happy Feet Two" didn't get a nom. Not only was it a very decent sequel, but it also had fantastic animation. With ten nominations, it seems it could've found a spot on the list instead of, I don't know...Pixar?

What are your thoughts? I thought that the show felt very cheap, an event which included (but not limited to) winners walking down the wrong hall and missing the stage, the wrong winner's envelope opened... And a seemingly drunk Patton Oswalt hosting.

I think the stark difference between how DreamWorks did this year and in previous years leaves little doubt the deck was stacked in their favor before the new rules.
