Yeah! The first thing I thought of when I heard "The Bear and the Bow" was a female ursidae with a pink ribbon in her hair!

Or maybe it was "bow", like taking a bow? Ever seen a bear take a bow before? That would be neat. :)

If we take the path that the title has been de-girled I find it hilarious that for the first Pixar film to have a female protagonist, they've de-girled the title.

Imagine how 'exciting' the film would be if it was that paricular bow Ben.

Yeah, all the boys would naturally think it was about bears shopping and gift-wrapped.

All I am saying is that, in these de-girly Disney times, I can see why the title has been de-girlied, even if it is ironic, as Bill says, that this should happen for Pixar's first heroine featured title.

What's next? Toy Story 3 released on actual screens as "Played"? Cars 2 becoming "Driven",

At least they don't have a problem with John Carter Of Mars. Oh yeah, that's because they switched it from Burroughs' original title The Princess Of Mars already!

I'd heard Brenda Chapman was "let off" the project, which explains why Mark Andrews is "co-directing" (although Chapman still gets a credit).

And every article seems to have taken "First female director (at Pixar)" and run with it without reading the parentheses--
In fact, not only did Brenda get the job by being the first female director at Dreamworks (and co-directing their only good film), we've had female directors on SharkTale, Open Season, and a half-dozen other places you normally wouldn't expect/deserve to find them.

Uhh..not DW ONLY good film Eric..

Anyway, this will be interesting figuring this will break away from the usual Pixar-ness, or I assume and hope.... I would like for it to be on the darker side if that doesn't sound too strange. hehe.
And what I mean by Pixar-ness, I guess I mean....more on the lines of the Incredibles? Or atleast more..hmm, yeah that's what I mean. It's not like I want blood or something, but I would like to see some grittyness and some edge, but I am sure Pixar won't dissapoint. I will say there aren't alot of Pixar movies, for me anyway, that I don't find as rewatchable as much as the darker more mature themed ones. So, maybe this could be one of them for me.

Here's a low quality version of the trailer for those who are interested!

And may I just say even with the low quality it looks absolutely fantastic!

Front-row theater-seat sillhouettes?...What is this, a Tex Avery cartoon? ;)

Seriously, the design of the movie itself looks pretty darn cool, even given how legendarily closemouthed Pixar teasers can be--Got that "Tangled without the comedy" feel to it.
Think I may actually have to go see Cars 2 next week just to get a clearer look.

^It isn't a tex avery cartoon if people haven't sit down in their seats, xD.

The trailer itself looks like Pixar was inspired by Kells and Tarvorsky's Samurai Jack. When are we getting a good quality trailer(not that there's anything wrong with this one). I cant hear it well enough.

Higher res (I think) poster a couple of clicks away here:
http://www.empireonline.com/news/story. ... tter%20(1)

Looks like Mother Gothel didn't actually die...she just switched Disney animation divisions! "How To Train Your Gothel"...? ;)

She obviously doesn't look like her in the teaser (unsurprisingly, the Brave teaser has been pulled from that link, but it's still around on YT) but this looks great. I still can't see why pirates haven't gotten around trying to film 3D by putting the left eye of the glasses over the lens! As soon as they work that out and start spreading 3D-2D copies around then the studios will realize that it's not pirate-proof after all!
