Competition is just what they don't want!
With Avatar hoovering up the sci-fi/fantasy crowd, the goal for Princess is to act as counterprogramming. True that there's some crossover, but they're no doubt hoping Avatar's geek business will be done over the opening weekend, leaving families free to get to Princess.
I think the plan with Christmas Carol is like with Polar Express (its clear model), to release it earlier and let the audience run through the entire holiday season.

On Don Hahn's new book, The Alchemy of Animation, there's a book signing/panel with Don and other great animators like James Baxter and Nick Ranieri (who's working on Princess) in conjunction with ASIFA-Hollywood on October 20th.

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Enchanted DID do very well in theaters, but was a mid-range hit. With mid-rangers, the Studio reasons that there are enough fans who will support a single disc release initially and will come back for another dip when the sequel, which invariably does better than the original thanks to word of mouth, comes out.
It's the mid-range films that usually get all the double and triple dipping on them.

It's official that there will be a sequel? I think they should do something about Giselle's life in Andalasia (Maybe a TV series like The Little Mermaid series but something),do you think that this film is mostly for Disney fans? and they"re the range of this film?.
I think that if they promoted how it's a Princess movie more people whould have seen it,they should have promoted the animated Giselle but they more promoted the her live action version insted.
How do you think that The Princess And The Frog will do? (And I have a feeling that The Princess And The Frog will get more promotion and attention then Enchanted).
I thought that with Enchanted they want to do more with the film so they released a single disc edition so later they can make a Special Edition and do more with the film.

I know that there were talks about a sequel (Thought I don't see how they can make a sequel,I don't think they can make something after the movie and a I"m not sure if a whole prequel can work) but I don't think that there was something official,I whould be very exited.
If I"ll have a Blu-Ray until the next release and it will be 2 discs I"ll buy it.
I found that the Princess And The Frog will be released a day after my birthday I"m really exited .

Ladies and Gentlemen of the board we may have a slight problem. On December 25th 2009{When this movie comes out} two movies are also coming out on this day. Which are the sequel to the crappy live-action Alvin and the chipmunks movie, and Spyro the dragon.
Anyone worried? Lets hope this 2d film doesnt fail at the box-office.

I"m not worried at all,a Disney Princess movie with Disney back to full hand drawn animation with the first black Princess and I think that Disney are planning huge promotion (And bigger promotion then Enchanted or Bolt) I don't think that Spyro or Chimpmunks will be any problem,Spyro won't have any problems and they both will do well and I don't think that people would rather see Alvin And The Chimpmucks over this.
