I used to LOVE Ketchup and put it on EVERYTHING.

Wallace and Gromit Ending

Post by Eagle » February 12th, 2006, 12:19 am

In the ending did Wallace go back to normal? Did he go back to being a normal guy all the time or did he stay as the were-rabbit(some of the time)? It never said in the ending.

I think the implication was that he went back to being a normal guy. Otherwise they'd have to keep coming back to it in future stories (of which Nick Park says he has a few ideas) and who want's to retread?

I pretty much got the impression that he wouldn't be turning into a rabbit anymore.

I took the fancy glowy effects which exited Wallace's body after he transformed back to a human to mean that the 'bunny brain-waves' had left Wallace for good (these were the same 'brain-wave effects' noted by Gromit at the time of the Bun-Vac/Mind-O-Matic accident).

Of course, since we never see the Were-Rabbit actually transform back into Wallace at any other point in the movie, there's no way to be certain that the 'glowy effects' didn't happen every time he transformed .. :?

But, do note that Wallace's ears are back to normal; recall that they had remained 'bunny-ears' during his previous re-transformation.

They are merely 'clues', but I think they imply Wallace won't be turning back into the Were-Rabbit in the future ..

IMO, Nick Park was wise not to dwell on 'spelling it out' with expository dialogue, or somesuch. The day was saved, the villain got his come-uppance, and all's well in the end.

Wallace is normal.

Until the next outing at least. ;)

I assumed the fall "killed" the rabbit, and almost took out Wallace as well.

On the official website you can find a lot of information and downloads.

An Australian tv trailer is online: http://animatie.blog.nl/tv/2008/11/30/e ... romit-film They get the world premiere this week. This Christmas, it will be shown on BBC 1.

Can't wait to see this! I'm not sure when we get it in America, though.

Considering the characters' popularity, I'm sure it won't be long. A year at the absolute most, I'd say, but probably much sooner.

Awwe, for a split second I thought it was going to be a new movie... ah well, a new short is great too! Cute trailer, I got a smile out of the "Ghost" inside joke.

For UK viewers, Nick Park is on The Culture Show tomorrow night on BBC2, talking about A Matter Of Loaf And Death.

The new featurette will match A Close Shave for length, being a half hour.
