I wonder what this teaser is about: http://www.garfield.com/d2v/gpf/teaser.html.
Looks like it's hinting at something bigger than a direct-to-video movie. A new theatrical film, perhaps? But then again, that teaser is in the site's 'd2v' section.
Update: I checked Wikipedia for some info. Obviously, this information may be incorrect. But it seems as though the movie will involve Garfield's Pet Force. It appears that there is also a Garfield CGI series coming to Cartoon Network, according to Wally on the Web.

bonjour from paris
Hi there
My name is Philippe Vidal and I'm the director of the new Garfield series.
You can check this link to get more news about it http://www.thegarfieldshow-diary.com/
by the way, feel free to ask whatever questions you may like I'll be glad to answer
The series is going well and will start airing soon in France. Probably by Christmas
The voice of Garfield is Frank Welker, by the way. He's an amazing actor with the largest id I've ever seen on Imdb!!!
take care

I remember that series it was good.ShyViolet wrote:I liked the other characters too (remember, it was "Garfield and Friends")
Remember that pig guy Orson and his mean older brothers, the little chick and his brother who was still just an egg and never hatched?
Are they going to bring them back as well?
The new series will be like the old one?.

I don't think you'll be disappointed, Ben. I saw Garfield Get's Real the other day (didn't even post my thoughts, oops) and I thought Frank was perfect. There were times where he sounded off, but on the whole I thought he captured Lorenzo's spirit.
Hiya Phil! So you're the director? Wow! Nice to meet you.
Ok, I do have some questions: will U.S. Acres have a role in the new series? I've heard the show will be using different CGI than what we see in the DTV's, (ie. Garfield Get's Real) true? Any word if the original Va for John comes back? I heard no, if so, any particular reason? I'll stop now.
Edit: I just saw the trailer for the new show that Phil kindly linked to. The CGI does look a little different.

Hello there Philippe.
Very exciting to be able to talk to the director of the new Garfield series.
I was wondering if this series will be set in the same universe as the two recent animated cgi movies, or will it be more similar to the setting of the Garfield & Friends animated series (more like the comic strip)?

Any chance of "Garfield's Judgement Day" finally getting produced? I read about that one on John Cawley's website and the idea is intriguing, but Jim Davis was never able to get it off the ground, despite (supposedly) having all the dialogue recorded. With the DTVs and the new TV show, it would seem that now's the perfect time to try again. If he still has the original recordings, you could use Lorenzo Music's performance as a selling point. Just a thought.
