I'm with Rand...that LD set does for me (even though one of the documentary sides is slowly rotting).
I didn't get the DVD, but all the stuff is there for them to put out a stunning 2-disc edition, with Vincent and Frankenweenie, etc. The book would have to go unless they did a smaller reprint/condensed version in a gift set, but certainly the content is there for a very nice set.
Of course there are many retrospective things they could now include too, as well as using the remastered version of the movie.
I wouldn't put it past anyone to be coming up with a 15th Anniversary DVD and Blu-Ray edition...Disney likes their 15th Anniversaries, it seems!

I can't get my DVD right now, so I'll have to resort to quoting IMDB (under "Alternate Versions"). It's a run-on sentence, but as I recall, it pretty much describes what happens in the scene.
Overall, I remember the scene feeling very forced. The alternate identity of Oogie Boogie where it's not a bunch of bugs but Dr. Finklestein (the mad scientist), he said he became Oogie Boogie because Sally was in love with Jack even though he created her and as Oogie Boogie he'd give her a lesson she's [sic] never forget, Finklestein then mentions a creation that will like him and with Igor's help he escapes through a trap door, this segment ends with Jack saying "i can't believe this".

THIS is the Blu-ray I've been waiting for! I'm sure it'll look spectacular. I love this film.
It's been on DVD on a loaded disc already (largely replicating the huge laserdisc set, minus the full-size book and some Selick shorts), so I doubt the new edition will have much more to offer. Disney will just spread the special features onto a second disc now, giving the video on the feature more bit-time. They have promised "exciting new features" for the Blu-ray, but that'll likely just be useless games that few wil care about. Still, especially as I never upgraded to DVD from the LD, this'll be a sure purchase for me.

I assume it`ll be out in time for Halloween, early in the 4th quarter.
Actually, it`s been out on DVD in Region 1 TWICE before--- barebones in 1997, and the 2000 Special Edition with all the bonus features:
