Yeah, I totally agree. Its something I wouldn't want, anyway. Just a minor appearence, like they had in the original and I'll be satisfied.

Hey...this is DreamWorks...they don't so understated! Knowing them we'll not only get more penguin screentime (to the point that they unbalance the movie) but we'll be introduced to their swarms of cousins or something.

As for Julien "leaving his people"...c'mon guys, sometimes you just amaze me. Just because he's the only meerkat in the picture it doesn't mean the others won't be in the movie!

After all, who d'ya think is taking that picture? ;)

It's possible that Jullian just gets shipped to Africa by mistake.

I do hope that Maurice returns, though. I liked him.

Considering that we're only getting more Madagascar marketing because DW thought they needed an emergency-backup second franchise when Shrek 2 looked like it was running out of steam...
We're probably only going to get a "little bit" of penguin-marketing in the sequel, in the same way the Ice Age movies only have a little bit of the squirrel in them.

Don't worry about the pinguins, they will have their own cartoon TV show that is developping at the moment at Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon will have a show based on this film? sounds odd (i also heard that they are making a show based on Over The Hedge) (Over The Hedge was that poplure?).
About the penguines-Yeah,they get all the marketing (like Sqart (or whatever the name of the squirrel from Ice Age 2),only that they actually take importent parts of the story (in the first, for example, without them Marty won't think he can escape and becouse of them, the Marty andf etc. got to Madagascar insted of Africa)).

It seems there might be a subtitle change for the sequel. The new title being considered is "Madagascar Gang to Escape 2 Africa"

Eww, I hope that's not the new title. It gives away the plot, and it doesn't flow right.

Thanks for the news, though!

Well, it is a better title than "2 Fast 2 Furious". ;)

Actually, "Madagascar Gang to Escape 2 Africa" is the title of the article - "Madagascar Escape 2 Africa" is the film title.

You're right Meg. Thanks for the correction.

I didn't like the original title and the new is no better in my opinion.
