This morning, Chris Wedge and the animation supervisor Mike Thurmeier were in Paris to host a press presentation of Horton (french title). They told the story with 30 minutes of footage. I can tell you that the animation is TOP NOTCH, Pixar quality animation (we'r miles away from Bee Movie standards). The character animation is excellent, very funny and lively. The humor is great, not poo humor à la Dreamworks. Thanks to the squash and stretch technic, and the amzing textures, we forget that this is a CGI movie. Great work Blue Sky !

The scenes we had to see: The opening with the dust, Horton and Miss Kangaroo, Whosville, the Mayor and his 97 children, 1st meet between Horton and the Mayor, The Mayor at the dentist/Horton on the bridge (HILARIOUS scene), Vlad presentation (the animation is outstanding for this character) and the chase in the snow.

I can't wait to see it on the big screen!

Chris Wedge also confirm that ICE GE 3 will be released in 2009 in 3D, responding to the question about Blue Sky position on 3D release.

(sorry to double post but I wanted to bring up the topic again)

As the time is growing nearer to the premiere of the film (and my birthday lol) I am getting more excited with every poster I see and kids shampoo bottle in the supermarket. The characters look very interesting so I am hoping this proves to be one of the best adaptations of a seuss story aside from the original cartoons. ^.^

Horton has been my favorite Seuss title since second grade. I'm really hoping they don't screw this one up ^__^

Yes, they better not tamper with a classic! Only a couple more weeks and we'll know. The commercials are certainly cute, though!

I have some good news for Horton fans! First up, this Tuesday sees the release of the original "Horton Hears a Who!" Dr. Seuss cartoon - in a "Deluxe Collection", no less! Best Buy seems to have it cheapest, at only $12.99. Sold!

Now for even better news, Best Buy is offering Free Movie Money (for Horton, a $7.50 value.) plus, a free Horton plush toy when you buy any of the movies listed at the link (in-store or online) for $14.99.

Omg, that's such a GREAT deal!! And the plushie looks so adorable, ahh!! Great news too, BB will have 50 plush toys per store, so if anyone is interested hopefully they won't run out fast. :)

I can't wait to see this movie. All the reviews and sneak peaks I have been reading says it's a great adaptation of the movie.

I think it's funny how yesterday was the first time I saw Robots all the way through, and I really loved it. Blue Sky is such a creative bunch of people. :D

My view on Horton is that I really want to be excited, but I've been burned before and so I can't help but tread cautiously. Both "The Grinch" and "Cat in the Hat" could have been decent flicks, but they just weren't very good. I seriously hope Horton breaks the cycle (the trailers have certainly been good), but I'm gonna have to go in with lowered expectations. Sorry.
