Speaking of Blair Witch, Cloverfield felt like a mixture of that and Godzilla.

I finally saw it! Didn't plan to, but I was invited. Dang, wow, that was good flick. It's been a while since I've seen a film like this, and the big screen made it feel much more epic. Gosh, I was like on the edge of my seat. Thankfully, I didn't get sick from all the shaking and stuff. Good, good, good! And the monster... :o

I don't think I'll get it on DVD, but it was a good popcorn movie and delivered what was promised.

As for a sequel, well, I wouldn't mind one. ;) True, the original was mostly the gimmick of what the monster looked like, and the camera shaking, but if J.J. Abrams can come up with something original, then I say go for it! Sigh, if only the American Godzilla film was this good. :(

Blair Witch meets Godzilla is basically how the film was sold to Paramount.

I'm hearing that the CG is pretty poor - will see tomorrow hopefully.

Yeah, CG could've been better...That was one of my problems with the film. The monster should have been as realistic as possible to hit the "this is really happening" feel on the mark.

Arrggghhh...my local isn't getting this in 'till next week!???

Might travel out of town, but with gas, higher ticket prices and parking, I have to ask myself if it's worth it for 80 minutes of wonky camera footage and so-so CGI...

Probably gonna wait. ;)

"Venom: The Movie" just might happen:

Part of me is saying, "It could ROCK!!!", but the more realistic part of me is telling me otherwise...

Come on, he wasn't even interesting as a side-character...I doubt he could hold up his own movie.

On the other hand, it could be as good as...

...CATWOMAN!

That's the last time I remember a "villain" turning hero. What's Venom gonna do? Go after the inexplicably let-go Sandman? Haha!

Catwoman was actually the first thing that came to my mind when I heard about this! I doubt Venom'll be any better.

This doesn't sound promising... Granted I have yet to see Spidy III, but villain turn goodie just doesn't sit right with me. -- If they're indeed going down that route.

I haven't even seen Catwoman either, but from what I've heard, I rather not.

Actually, Dan, Catwoman is immensely silly camp fun. A bad movie in a good way. It's worth seeing on free TV if you get the chance, just for the laugh really.

Just keep bearing in mind that Halle Berry is a supposed "Academy Award Winner" all through her performance! :)

"Catwoman" is one of those movies that I've promised myself I'll never watch...but maybe I'll give in to temptation someday just to see what it's like.

Anyway, the title for the film has been out for a while, but "Quantum of Solace" now has a poster and behind-the-scenes clip:

Boring!

Looks like a teaser for any other Bond picture. Plus Danny Craig looks bald. And is it a requirement for him to have his tuxedo blowing in the wind?

That's pretty terrible, actually.
