Fyi, the season premiere of The Simpsons is this Sunday. (9/23) Episode title: "He Loves to Fly and he D'ohs"
The promos Fox has been airing look promising, so I'm hoping this will be good eppie/premiere. If you do plan on watching, don't miss the couch gag!! (Won't spoil it, for those who don't know)
In other Simpson news, this past Tuesday [9-18] saw the release of "The Simpsons: Testify". (Don't like the name) A brand new CD, with music from the shows 10-18 seasons. There's a lot of good songs on here, but a few clunkers, too. (Jocky elves!) Btw, if you click the above link, you can hear samples of the songs!
Here's the cover art:
Definetly gonna get this soon!

Not yet! Wow, you got it for that little? I'll have to check that out!
I may or may not have seen this. I'll check it out again. When watching a particular episode on the set, if you you do something at the right time, it takes to a bonus commentary with Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein, reflecting on their time as showrunners.
Its a true gem!
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Thankies, AOL sure helpled that waiting... finally got it!
Has anyone been watching season 19, (aka, season 18 holdovers)? I of course have, and am impressed with the quality so far, I mean wow. (Though there were some gripes, but nothing big.)
Simpsons is right now on a two week vacation, (sports, ugh!) but when they come back on November 4th, it'll be their annual THoH and it sounds very promising. Here's the promo pic which looks so cool! (Yup, even the Mr. & Ms. Smith parody!)

Yep...
Wish I could say I thought it was going to be a good "Treehouse of Horror" episode but The Simpsons' well ran dry a long time ago. "ToH" was pretty good each year until about '01 and then even the writers gave up on that annual episode.
I just don't think after 400 episodes there's really much left to be said about the characters. Pretty much true for any set of characters that runs much longer than 5 years. There ought to be a rule that new shows have to be created after a 5-year-run of every fictional TV series. The only things keeping the show running are the inertia of fans convinced they're going to see something new and REALLY FUNNY again and continuing ad revenues and DVD sales for Fox Network.
The show should have been shot dead after season nine...
