Weird fact: I actually met the guy who played the army general who didn't like Reed (Andre Braugher) years ago when he was doing City of Angels (on a journalism press conference assignment.)
Cool. :D

I finally watched the first one last night (actually the new extended cut). It wasn't as bad as I feared, and my buddy and I actually kinda liked it. I think it suffers from not being more epic, especially the fact that the final battle is just Doom having a hissyfit, but it sets things up for hopefully a better sequel. On its own, I can see how it was a disappointment; but without it we wouldn't get the Surfer movie. Hopefully I'll see that in a week or two.

The new one has more action than the original. That was one of the many things I liked about it.

Love your av WJ!!!! Is it from "The Chipmunk Adventure" by any chance? :)

Also, FF2 apparently pulled in something like 50 mill over the weekend.

It's the ORIGINAL Brittany!!

(character's name was Brittany. Her sisters were Elenore and Jeanette. They basically paired up with Alvin, Simon, and Theodore respectively. :) )

Yeah, I was not impressed by this movie. The Silver Surfer was awesome and some of the special effects were great and I felt that they did a good job of translating this classic FF story to the big screen.

But the poor performances from the actors (except Michael Chiklis), continuity plot holes, suspect CG and poor dialogue, often worse than Spider-Man or Star Wars (well, maybe not Star Wars) left me feeling quite disappointed.

It's better than the first and worth seeing but maybe as a rental.

Thanks. I've been trying to remember the names of the Chipettes for ages. ;)

Okay...question...

Fan-4: Surfer, or Ocean's 13...?

Going out tonight to see one of these...

Ocean's 13 by far received the better reviews of the two films. However, it might come down to how much you like the movies' predecessors.

Oh, that is a very good point! (It's also a perfect example of why I enjoy being single.) :)
