As I said to my AN&V colleagues here over the weekend (oh, okay, you got me...I saw it, already!), I got a huge 20,000 Leagues/Swiss Family Robinson vibe from this one.

Now that it's practically out, I'll be writing up my notes and letting rip on what I thought in tomorrow's Tooning In column. :)

I'm so happy that it hasn't dissapointed any of you.
After Spidey & Shrek, I was afraid that Pirates would be a letdown as well.

Going to watch it on saturday.
Btw, I don't know if any of you really pay attention to this, but how was the score compared to the previous ones?
Lots of new themes or mostly made up of recycled material from the previous installments?

There are a few new themes, but they aren't as strong as the ones from DMC. They also recycled some of the themes from DMC into some of score.

Just got back from World's End and I have to say... I'm disappointed. I enjoyed it but it wasn't the conclusion I hoped for and it didn't compare to the sheer fun of the second film IMO. I shall post my opinion on the film later on.

I was hoping the kid would have an undead pet monkey.

Apparently, Johnny Depp is an animation fan!!

So awesome. Kinda surprised but not really. He's just so awesome, how could he not be? :)

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

It was fairly obvious, when Blck Pearl came out he said one of his inspirations was Pépé le Pex. Moreover, this act in AWE with Barbossa remids a lot of Bugs BUnny and Daffy Duck IMO. Very funny.

Um...he's also best mates with ex-animator Tim Burton!

"But Dick Cook wasn't going to squander an opportunity like this by having someone of Depp's caliber do voice work for Meet the Robinsons."

- Nice, so there's some proof they never saw that as a major movie.

"How so much of what happens just seems to come down to coincidence? The luck of the draw?"

- Or how about how your leading actor already having a relationship with the Studio and had just been starring in a movie (Finding Neverland) that featured a sequence where that leading actor had played pirates...not a far one, two, three steps to imagining him in your upcoming pirate flick!
