Lusting over toons is not always bad. I do it myself. One toon in particular is really hot, and lusting over him helps me to escape from reality. I think it's perfectly healthy and harmless. I know I'm not alone on this one.Rio wrote:...this whole topic is terrible. Please I sure do know want to bang no cartoon character. Kinda perverted.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with thinking that a cartoon character is attractive at all-- in many cases it means that the animator was doing his/her job well. For example, take a look at the character "Jessica Rabit" from the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" Her character was supposed to be that of a sexy seductress. As a result, she was drawn to look like a sexy seductress. If the audience when they watched the film didn't see Jessica as being incredily sexy, her character would have absolutely made no sense in the film.Rio wrote:Ok, I'm sorry but if you think thinking cars are sexy is bad... this whole topic is terrible. Please I sure do know want to bang no cartoon character.
The same thing applies to the movie "Cars." When the audience looks at Sally the Porsche, they have to instinctively "know" that she is supposed to be very attractive, and this has been done through her voice, her body language, and the fact that she was a very "curvey" model of car. If people didn't recognize her as being sexy on a subconscious level, we never would realize why Lightning was so smitten over her.
People who lust for cartoon characters are just seeing the character's sexyness on a conscious level instead of a subconscious one. When it comes to lusting for a non-human character such as Sally from Cars or Vixey from The Fox and the Hound, in many cases it is the personality and the demeanor of the character instead of the character's appearance.
You mentioned liking half-naked celebrities in your post. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, I personally do not find very many celebrities appealing due to their personalities. Look what Paris Hilton represents: being a stuck-up materialistic snob with no work ethic. Look at what Lindsay Lohan represents: binge drinking and eating disorders. Sure there are some friendly and responcible celebrities out there, but they are the rare ones. The attitudes of celebrities as a whole really turn me off, and as a result I just don't find them to be very interesting. The personalities of many cartoon characters, especially when it comes to your classic Disney animated feature films, tend to be so much warmer and more "pure" than what you would find out there in Hollywood. You have characters that are friendly, loyal, trustworthy, kind, etc., and in a world that seems to be drowning in jerks at times it can be kind of nice to fantasize about someone who isn't two-faced nor has major emotional baggage for a change!Rio wrote:Why fantasize over them when we have all these half naked celebrities running around. Kinda creepy... but no offense.
I'm a furry cartoonist as a "hobby with financial benefits," so I often spend a lot of time creating warmer gentler characters for my customers to enjoy, get comfort in, and possibly lust after. As a result, I obviously tend to think about what people like to see and long for in fictional characters all of the time. As long as you are a normal person that knows the difference between fantasy and reality I really can't see how being smitten over a cartoon character can be bad. It's like what PixarVixen said in her last post-- the "real world" can be really a mess sometimes, and every once and a while people need to escape for a moment or two and dream about something better. That's what the entertainment business is all about!
There's a 68.71% chance that I'm right.

Don't get me wrong, I know when things are supposed to look attractive or not. I know when an animated character is supposed to be the best looking out of all of them but I just draw the line when it starts getting weird. I haven't read this whole topic but fromw hat the title sounds like... it sounds like boys in the locker room talking about the hottest girl in school. I think animation is stunning and I think it's one of the most beatiful art forms. Let's be real... there's porn sites with naked cartoon... that' freaky. I don't know everyone's social status in school or what you all do but I hope I'm not alone on this. I could be but I'm sorry if I've offended anyone.

You have absolutely every right to voice your opinion on the matter, Rio .. but, if you had read this whole thread, you'd see it was mostly pretty innocent, compared to what you seem to think it's about.
As far as I've seen, this has primarily been a "Who's 'hot', who's not" sort of discussion .. no one has said they want to 'bang' a cartoon character. 'Grade-school-level' stuff ..? Maybe -- but 'harmless' enough, so far. There's even been as many girls contributing 'likes' as guys .. possibly more.
The Animated News/Views mods seem to be pretty well 'on top' of things when it comes to 'inappropriate' content in posts (heck, the member who started this topic has gotten several warnings -- though not for anything said in this thread).
Again, you're welcome to your opinion -- and to express the same .. but if this topic really bothers you, I suggest 'avoiding' it from now on. After all, it's the only thread on this subject, ATM; it's not as if this place is under threat of becoming a 'toon porn' board.
/not 'offended' in the least, BTW -- just offering advice
