Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
At this point, I think the five nominations for the Best Animated Feature Oscar are:
"Cars"
"Over the Hedge"
"Monster House"
"Open Season"
"Flushed Away"
Winner will be "Flushed Away" or "Cars".

How about I write more now!James wrote:Posted: 03 Nov 2006 05:43 pm
Just got back! It's a very funny film, and easily one of the top three animated films of the year (with Cars and Over the Hedge). It's no classic, but very welcome after a lot of the films we've had to endure this year! I'll write more later - gotta go!
I was a little leery of the melding of DreamWorks and Aardman sensibilities, but it came off good - though you can definitely tell who wrote which bits!
Voice acting was VERY good!
Fun and funny movie - though I didn't like the slugs as much as the critics seemed to.
Potty humor is kept to a bare minimum - a welcome surprise!
The major downside is that you never seemed to get to a point that you really cared about the characters. Yes you want to find out what happens to them in the story but they didn't make a strong connection with the audience.
While fun and enjoyable, not a classic.

Hey, has anyone heard about this book?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/produc ... 55&s=books
More media know-it-all smugness...as if there wasn't a DWA around still making movies. He pins it all on their "hubris". (Of course he overlooks the fact that the stakes were uneven from the begining for all three of them, and that two of them had nothing to lose in the venture and generally didn't much care if it sank, and that the only reason it's STILL around today in some form is because one guy worked like crazy to keep it going.)
Is this guy even literate?
It's all about "writers" making money folks. This book looks even worse than Disney War.
Probably it'll get good reviews....because the ones reviewing it as usual have no background or context on the info and believe every exaggerated/twisted/misinformed story the writer dishes out.

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
