Um, let's see.
Pixar: Seven movies so far.
Dreamworks: 12 films so far, with another on the way in less than two weeks.
Now, I know that wasn't fair. But, hey, DreamWorks has "More" if we look at it that way.

Apart from Fiona, the others are only supporting characters, I'm much more impressed by a Jesse, Atta, Boo or Elastigirl than any of those critters...ShyViolet wrote:What about princess Fiona, Gloria the Hippo, Stella the Skunk, or Angie from Shark Tale?Actually I think MOST CG films in general lack strong female characters...In fact, the only 3D movie I can think of that stars a female is Hoodwinked!
Pixar, DW, Bluesky, etc. better get crackin'. I wanna see some girl power, darn it! (Elastigirl rocks, though.)

Boo?!?!
C'mon, now, Boo's only two or three years old!
My point was that DreamWorks has more films than Pixar, so, of course, they have more female leads than they do. Whether or not they're "Strong" is a matter of opinion.
And, as I said earlier, my point wasn't fairly made at all.

You pick. Are we counting films or strong female leads?

She's only 3 years old yet she convey WAY MORE feelings and reactions than a lame Dreamworks female sidekicks. The only female characters in Dreamworks that can be called strong characters would be the 3 girls from the traditionnal features: Prince of Egypt, ElDorado and Sinbad.

Oh, thanks for clearing that up Meg I agree, Hoodwinked showcased Riding Hood as a great female leadMeg wrote:Just to clear things up, I wasn't talking about strong females in general in CGI movies - I was talking about strong female leads. Again, the only 3D flick I can remember that has a female main character is Hoodwinked.
Eh.....every forum I'm on there's always a vs + vs thread. I've gottan rather immune to themMeg wrote: And please, please, people, let's not turn this into ANOTHER Pixar vs DW thread?
To me, they both have their redeeming qualities, but Disney will always be my favorite
