I thought that would happen. I think Affleck looks good in the role, if not heavy enough as Rand has said to me.

Hollywoodland looks like it could be this year's decent mature flick. As a Superman and Reeves fan and someone who read about his story years ago, I am looking forward to this.

Wow...opens tomorrow. That came quick! Hopefully the UK will get it before awards season.

Well, that wouldn't be hard. "Disappointment" doesn't even come close. I still can't actually talk about it (that experience). Crushing. Absolutely crushing.

Wow... I didn't realize you disliked Superman Returns that much, Ben. I hope someday you are able to talk about it. I'm really eager to hear that review.

Yeah, I had a feeling that's what you thought since you didn't post any thoughts about it. I hope you like Hollywoodland more. Sorry you had a bad experience. :(

Holy ship, it's "The Phantom of the Opera" all over again! ;) :D

Try multiplying Phantom by infinity and you'll be getting close... ;)

That one just riled me up as I thought it was just pulled off so poorly. This one ripped me apart emotionally and spat me out the other end. I actually nearly broke down leaving the theater, and as you know my expectations were not even that high.

My good lady asked me what I thought and I said "I can't talk about it right now". There, now I'm talking about it... :(

Sorry Ben. :(

Hope you have better experiences next summer.

(plus who knows, maybe someone else will helm the next Supes and it will be a lot better! :)) And don't forget the Supes II Donner special edition.

Oh, and here's Roger Ebert's take on SR. He didn't like it much either, and he gives it **. And he LOVED Superman '78.

Well, now I know what not to get Ben for Christmas. ;) But, seriously, I can understand why some people don't like this one at all.

When's SR coming out on DVD? I can't find a date.

Ah. Sounds like it could be a Christmas present for me. ;)

BTW, wasn't yesterday your birthday, Ben?
