Will 2D animation die?

Final Fantasy VII is also really interesting to look at, though I couldn't get into the story. What I like about VII is that they used a photorealistic CG approach yet kept the anime style in the characters' physical characteristics -- larger eyes, clumping hair (in some cases). And the "sets" and "costumes" were spectacular. Whatever you think, you can't deny that the movie is a work of art. I'd like to see more studios do this type of thing. Anyone see Mirrormask? Another work of art (though I think it should be targeted as a children's story).

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Hmmm, if this does turn out to be any good, it really will be a Miracle.
Honestly, the animation looks good, about on par with a Disney DTV, but the sugar-coated message is going to take a bitter pill to help swallow, and I lost count on how many times they said the word Miracle.
The over-hyping at the beginning of the clip didn't help much either, as it all sounded rather hollow. Good luck to 'em, but for these guys with this character to start a 2D revolution it really would take a miracle!

Thanks for the link, I had trouble finding it on the site.
No problem. That site is kinda confusing (and seems to ride on Disney's coattails a lot.)

I think the characters look good, but I HATE that Mouse's voice!
It's interesting that they want to use religion as a springboard, but they should find a way to make it more marketable to different people (the way Prince of Egypt did.)

As much as I'd like to be optimistic about the film, it looks like "Care Bears" meets "Veggie Tales" for the Nick Jr. set. Yikes.ShyViolet wrote:Quicktime clip from new Miracle Studios film

I still bought the book to support 2D and their effort to keep it alive.
