Antz was ok.
It has sort of the same theme as A Bug's Life. One ant can make a big difference in the colony by showing everyone how strong they can be if they work together. Both movies also had a villain whose plans included doing away with the queen.
ABL was way way way better though. It had a more entertaining cast of characters, and the story was carried out nicely.

Aww. Don't be so harsh on it.ShyViolet wrote:BTW I think Ant Bully looks awful. The bugs aren't interesting or cute or funny or anything....and that boy looks like such a rip-off of the MTR kid.
I'm avoiding this one like the plague.
IMO, I think Lucas looks more like Dash than Lewis, but only when he's in his ant tribe outfit. And the ants look great, and so do the other bugs I've seen so far. I'll be watching this one on the first day.

Thanks, I'm quite proud of it. Although it's more of "four directors, eternal co-director Lee Unkrich, and Joe Ranft" than "Sacred Seven." Even if it weren't for the fact that it's only six. Brandon's got his Holy Trinity of Jobs, Catmull, and Lasseter, though, if he hasn't already brought that up before.ShyViolet wrote:Hey Delf neat Sacred Seven avatar!
Ed Catmull's missing though, isn't he?
I love A Bug's Life, and agree that it is far too underrated. Toy Story is remembered for being the first, and all the more recent ones are remembered simply because they're more recent, but A Bug's Life always gets left out.
I'm not going to see Ant Bully, just because it doesn't look to me like it's going to be all that great of a film, although I do think that the ant models are better than those in Antz. Noses do not belong on ants, that's all there is to it.
And to tie it all back to voice actors in a roundabout way, I just watched A Bug's Life again for the first time in a month or two, and realzed just how freaky Flik's laugh is. Almost as bad as Mozart's in Amadeus. Almost.
