I have to admit the script isn't great for this teaser and the French one actually seemed to make it funnier somehow. But I think as long as you take it as a teaser and not necessarily as being indicative of what the end product will be like, it's much more satisfying. Plus, all the other teasers have focused on the comedy element whereas this one seems to be a bit more 'adventurous'. Plus when the animation looks that good, who cares?

Yeah... You're right - I've got wrong first impression It's not saturation that is different - it's more connected with color balance - HD version has less blue tints, and reds instead of oranges.Ben wrote:I didn't notice any muted colors - looks pretty identical to the French picture version. Oranges and more intensive blues make French picture version warmer in my eyes

I did it! I was able to wait until seeing Cars again to see the trailer, and I loved it!
Not at all was that how I imagined the rats would look, but they're cute. ^^
There is no doubt in my mind that Brad was the waiter. I can best describe his voice as E's, just a little manlier and French. LOL
I was desperately trying to figure out who does the voice for Ratatouille. Why do I keep thinking it's Gary Shandling?

Saw the trailer with Cars. The animation is incredible, not too sure about the designs though. They're a little "toonier" than I might have done them, but then again, I have no clue what the tone of the movie is like. It very well may fit in the end.
The blue fur doesn't bug me too much, but the very visible pink lip does. I'll stay tuned, though. Cars managed to sail past my initial reaction; hopefully this will have similar luck.

Huh. I didn't even notice the pink lips. I'm downloading the trailer from Disney's official website for the movie because the Apple trailer isn't working for me. So far it's up to Ratatouille running in the kitchen. When I can get a better view of him, I'll look for the pink lips.
I can see what you mean about the style being a little "toonier" than as expected. I imagined the rats to be a little more realistic or something. But I say hey, it's Pixar. That's their style, and it's working very well for them.
*edit*
Ok, now I've seen the pink lips. But ya know what? It doesn't bother me. One thing I WILL say though is that the rats remind me of muppets. LOL

In doing a search on the voices, a little blue rat tells me that they could all be temps!
I can't believe this, but with Bird coming in late on the production, there could be some voice changes, or at least in performance.
Remember that the first Shrek teaser had Myers' original American accent before doing the whole script again with a soft Scottish brogue.

WOOO-E!
okay so i got to see cars yesterday and let me just say that the teaser for this was nice.
the animation for the city were stupendus and the over-all feeling made me feel all warm inside
I loved how he was blue. it was original. I thought that the "look" of them was very cartoony and fun. Not anything like the rats in flushed away.
Looks like another pixar classic here.
fun.

Ok, I think I listened to the trailer a hundred times last night/early morning. I know I said I thought it might be Gary Shandling doing the voice, but I instantly scrapped the first time I played the trailer at home. My money's on Patton. I'm very familiar with voices, I've been told.
Now David Schwimmer...I'll have to listen for him the next time I play it.

So is Remy the blue rat's name? So far, everyone has been referring to him as Ratatouille, but I didn't think that was his real name. It if is, Brandon had a cute idea about Pixar using that as a joke throughout the whole movie and constantly mispronouncing it. Hahahaha.Meg wrote:I didn't mind the blue colors on Remy as much as I thought I would.
