okay. first. i love the animation for the charecters. it gives off a stop animation type thing.
i hate the backrounds. they look so fake. hopefully the'll make some changes.

I was expecting them to release a trailer around this time, what with Over the Hedge coming out tommorow and all.

OMG! This looks s**t!

Baaaad character animation - check.

Flat, bland, un-inspired backgrounds that don't look rendered and have no "real" detail in them - check.

Madagascar type visual gags that we've seen before - check.

More DreamWorks wind/fart/burb "jokes" - check.

The usual travelling down a 3D landscape/tunnel shot - check.

A terrible Finding Nemo joke that only really goes to show up the animation's shortcomings - check.

Plus a character lead who looks more like Jerry Seinfeld than...Jerry Seinfeld!?

It's SharkTale all over again...with rats!

Honestly, this looks like bad student animation - Valiant's look was better than this for goodness sake! Look out for that drip of water running down Roddy's arm as he comes out of the water near the end - how wrong does that look...and why?

Oh, why, Aardman, why?? How great could this have been in stop motion? Why wasn't it made that way? Oh wait, because those kind of features (with care and attention to detail) take twice as long to do as cheap CGI knockoffs.

And they went for THIS over Tortoise And The Hare!??

Shame. Pooh. :(

Disney/Pixar have nothing to worry about from what we've heard about Rataouille and the trailer for that will only confirm things, no doubt.

Ben - You're a litte bit too harsh on them. Yes - some backgrounds look flat, badly lighted and shaded, and too aseptic, Yes - some effects work needs more effort to make them look good, Yes - fart jokes are annoying, but characters look quite good, and are animated quite well (nice aardman claymation lipsync stylization). I just hope they'll fine tune all flaws and make this movie look dirtier. Of course there are drawbacks of that CGI imitation of claymation style, but it's always nice to diversify stylisation in 3d animations.

Hmm...a lot of the shots don't seem to be completley rendered yet. I'll admit I was expecting better out of Aardman...Burpb jokes AGH.

Really? On none of the formats? I got it to work for me but it took a while to load.

Ah well, I'm 100% sure it's playing with OtH so you can see it then.

Are you willing to lay money on that, Meg? ;)

But, yeah, I'm 100% sure as well. :D
