I think it was that test shot footage that first got me thinking that Cars wasn't gonna be as good as the other Pixar films. Now that they've updated and made more previews, I have a completely different opinion of how the movie will be.

i loved return to neverland also! you could tell that they took their time with it, and they didnt make it just for the money... wonder what PP3 will look like... hmmmm...

PP3 is supposed to be a Tinker Bell prequel or something (sighs).

And I'm very well aware that Jane had a daughter. It would be nice to meet her, but it probably won't happen.

Did he do ANY animated sequels?

Well, if you count Saludos Amigos, maybe. And the other "omnibus features." And he did plan a sequel to Fantasia that was to feature world music.

I would count Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty as sequels of a kind. Certainly trying to recapture the success of Snow White.

I wouldn't say that Walt was pro-sequel, but he DID recognize a successful formula when he hit on one.

Hmm... Disney sequels during Walt's reign. Interesting trivia question.

The Misadventures Of Merlin Jones...followed by The Monkey's Uncle.

Also, of a fashion, the often forgotten Richard Todd "trilogy" of the early 1950s (among Walt's first true live-action films): Robin Hood, Rob-Roy and The Swrod And The Rose...same crew, same actors, same director on two out of three and same production studio in England.

BTW, Saludos Amigos wasn't a sequel...it was The Three Caballeros that followed Saludos.

The "Package Features" were sequels to Fantasia of a kind... Make Mine Music was a very conscious effort to "do Fantasia" with popular music (indeed with the Clair de Lune sequence intended for that film re-scored as Blue Bayou).

The later Melody Time was a quasi follow up to both Make Mine AND the South American features, featuring several more song sequences and the live-action/animation combination return of Donald Duck and the Aracuan Bird.

Also, Make Mine Music originally featured the sequence Casey At The Bat, which was followed by its own released featurette sequel Casey Bats Again (not part of any anthology feature).

Lastly...and a very rarely know fact...was that both films were independently combined by distributor RKO Radio Pictures into Music Time, released in 1953 when Walt started up Buena Vista and was under obligation to deliver RKO one more film. I don't know (but doubt) if any new animation was created for this version, but since that release it has never been seen again.

Shame that the current Make Mine Music DVD omits the original opening of The Martins And The Coys - it's a hysterical sequence and one of the best in the film. Good job I have my VHS!

Yep...that's not even finished render shots.

The 57 was something to do with Lasseter, either his age or his birth year. It got changed to 95 to reflect Pixar's breakthrough year with Toy Story.

Yeah yeah yeah, I'm pretty sure 57 was Lasseter's birthdate. It couldn't be his age, he's 49.
