Here's the relevant section of a recent podcast providing details on WA's next major Hanna-Barbera animated TV series set .. the complete Huckleberry Hound, on 11 Blu-ray discs! :D

It's coming in August .. though it's not available for pre-order from WA's Amazon store, just yet.

Looks like the full retail price will be around US$70 .. just over a dollar, per episode..!

It looks to be an amazing release. It's also been hinted that the QuickDraw McGraw music rights issue is being hammered out, too. The future is bright.

Already up at Amazon, for 8/26: https://www.amazon.com/Huckleberry-Houn ... 6VNT9U1DXX

GF: “At the time, there was a rumor going around that Warner didn’t do a Huck V2 because it hadn’t sold very well—That’s not true, it sold very well.”

Gee, I wonder WHICH weaselly, mule-stubborn studio p***-pants terrified of releasing Collector’s Edition boxsets in mass market retail started THAT particular canard?

(00s Warner would burn down a kindergarten, and then say “Kids told us learning the alphabet was ‘boring’.” :x )

The music rights also kept Huck V2 off of disc, the first time round. Interesting.
Maybe that means we might even see some of the Seely-scored Looney shorts come out of limbo.

Just so long as we can finally fill in missing voids in the collection, Warner Archive’s our Huckleberry.

While I’d have been pleased with a release of the cancelled Golden Collection V2, as I have the first one and what was essentially the third (the CinemaScope set), this finally fills in those gaps and — potentially — has newer/better transfers than at least that first collection (time will tell if the 'Scope cartoons are the same versions as they were only released this year).

Better yet is the potential for more collections on the future: a second "Silver Era" Tom & Jerry set to finish those off? Droopy? Looney character sets for Bugs, Daffy et al…?

Very good news…be sure to support these releases: mine will be Day One pickups! :)

I just did a big Hanna-Barbera catch-up order, and will order Tom and Jerry ASAP. too.

The Extras podcast with George and Jerry also stated this week that "this is just the beginning," hinting at further deluxe animation sets.

C'mon, Happy Harmonies!!!

Rand has been tempting me with these HB releases. Per my email to you, Randy m'boy, I found I also have Jetsons and the Scooby Movies sets so far in addition to what I mentioned. Looking forward to that reply! :)
