Weirdly, The Duxorcist opens Quackbusters, so I wonder if they mean that, or if it’s a separate isolated short version in addition? Needless to say, these will be ours!

In a comic book guy nerd voice "actually night of the living duck opens quackbusters. Duxorcist shows up later in the movie" Duxorcist did air on its own as a separate short as well of course.
It's nice this is at last getting a remaster. Used to watch it all the time back then. Plus, an egghead cameo!

Oops! Oh yeah! I knew one opened it, and the other was in it. Got them mixed up! The first DTV Looney movie, as I recall.

It's fine. Having some fun. Daffy's quackbusters counting bugs bunny superstar was the 6th big screen looney tunes animated movie.
Here is a tv spot for its theater release.

Great american chase / Bugs bunny road runner movie
Looney looney bugs bunny movie
Bugs 3rd movie 1001 rabbit tales
Daffy duck's fantastic island

Re: WB Archive Collection: Discs On Demand!
Although technically, Bugs Bunny Superstar was, ridiculously, an independent release, since WB didn’t want anything to do with their Looney Tunes in the 70s! (I did get that you alluded to this by saying if you include it!)
After the success of That's Entertainment proved audiences were hungry for nostalgic old-school clips in 1974, that film was linked together with home movie footage and an Orson Welles narration, and was a smash success, leading WB to then do a couple of TV specials and then those other features. Quackbusters was the last one that was intended for theatrical but ended up going direct to video after the failure of Daffy Duck's Movie: Fantastic Island. Of course there was also the Tiny Toons Summer Vacation movie that sold gangbusters on video too!
I really hope Day The Earth Blew Up gets a disc release, as that’s how I’ll likely see it, and am gagging to see the return of Clampett-era surrealism back to the Tunes!

Quckbusters in america did get a big screen release even getting an ebert review. Saw the tv ads for it coming to the movies on saturday morning cartoons breaks.
As you said don't think it did as good. Maybe switching from bugs to daffy as the movie leads was a bad idea. Tiny toons movie was planned for the big-screen at first but shifted to vhs early leading to the vhs gags in the movie.

They both make decent points. I didn’t realise that it did get a release…maybe it got pulled quick as I never read any grosses or info on it before it turned up as a DTV here, and usually I would have been anticipating something like this based on an earlier US release. The first I ever saw of it was an ad on the back page of Empire magazine, promoting the VHS (which I got, natch!).

Yeah, it was a full big screen release. ET even did a story on it. As for box office I did a "movies based on animated shows in the 80s" list and wanted to post box office and half were missing box office numbers or overseas numbers. We still don't have mighty mouse and the great space chase or bravestarr the movie box office numbers. They said robotech the movie did so well in the uk it got a rerelease but no box office numbers for it.
It's sad but looks like box office mojo doesn't care to find them.

Not now, no. And like me they’re probably remembered more for their tape releases nowadays. Which many of these films were made for, ultimately, albeit via a theatrical promo release.
