Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
Looking back Crystal Skull (which I really think is over-hated. Please don’t ban me for saying this) actually got respectively better reviews than Dial has so far.
But then again Cannes was probably a bad place to premiere this. They are a tough crowd to please. So I wouldn’t worry too much yet.

But the reviewers are the same reviewers that would have reviewed it anyway (and likely covered Numb Skull). They’re not hardened Cannes-specific toffs.
I refer you to a shot-by-shot breakdown of why Kingdumb Of The Numb Skull is just bad:

Ouch! That’s not fair on the new one to have to live up to! Are they doing Temple and Crusade the following weeks in the lead up to Destiny?
Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
Doesn't look like it.

Character posters:

Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
I do hate how every bit of marketing I’ve seen for this film can’t get the angle on the Indy logo right. It’s not hard, guys.
Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
At first glance I thought the logo on the Toby Jones one had thorns sticking out of it, symbolizing the past. It's really just his pins!
Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
Jones films and young indy series are now on disney plus.
Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
That damn logo!!! It’s like it’s literally fallen over.
Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
Just had a classic Ben thinking this all through too much thought, and worried that they may have messed this up right from the title…
Raiders' title was not about the Ark, it was about its marauders. Likewise the Temple Of Doom title wasn’t about the central Sankara Stones themselves, and Last Crusade wasn’t called Indiana Jones And The Holy Grail. Even the last one didn’t go the boring title route of Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull, with the Kingdom adding that non-specific, vague air of mystery to it, albeit a little too desperate in its way to make it sound Indy-ish.
So have they messed up and fouled a tradition by placing the actual MacGuffin — the Dial of Destiny — into the title itself? Just like the wonky leaning over treatment that has me worried they don’t *quite* get this, wouldn’t something like Indiana Jones And The Sands Of Time maybe be more appropriate, in keeping with the non-exact distinction of each title, and just more Indy-ish in general…?
Yeah, I’m over thinking. But somebody has to!

Admittedly, you have something there.
