Re: Godzilla vs. Kong
This series is made by the same goofy mentality that made every other improvised Hollywood blockbuster franchise, so we can accept there's no off-topic rabbit hole their hired-on-demand writers won't go down to give us what some rich overambitious and loopy producer thinks is "spectacle":Daniel wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2022, 3:34 pmEvidently a sequel is gearing up for production in Australia. Maybe an Alien invasion plot with Gigan? Destoroyah? They can't really rehash the original.
Did I say "No rabbit-hole too deep"?...The last movie went to the center of the earth.
If we're wondering "What classic Showa/Heisei era lore will they pay loving fan tribute to?", that's what we thought about the 90s movie before it opened.
(And what, "Spoilers"? Everyone else knew about Destoroyah!)

The front is upside down. Kong good should be on top, Godzilla coming up from below…

Re: Godzilla vs. Kong
It's going to be directed by Takashi Yamazaki who directed Always: Sunset on Third Street. There's three in the series, and the reason I bring it up is the second one had a Godzilla cameo in the form of a dream sequence:
That was, and still is, a pretty awesome scene! Putting aside the rough CG. That classic music alone.

The Monsterverse continues with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire:
Looks like the villain will be an evil Kong or Kong variant. Awesome reveal!

Re: Godzilla vs. Kong
Well after the Kong Vs Godzilla "remake", we need to see him battle a Mecha-Kong, right?

Pluto TV is launching a 24/7 Godzilla channel on July 1st! It will reportedly have all Toho films up to Final Wars (minus King Kong vs. Godzilla) the Rebirth of Mothra films, the 70s animated show and the TriStar animated series. Woo hoo!

1998 Godzilla and its animated series as well!

Re: Godzilla vs. Kong
Seeing as they already have a 24/7 Tokusatsu channel, for subtitled reruns of Kamen Rider and other series that never got remade into US Power Ranger seasons.
(Which is why I'm hoping Shout can track down the Japanese Spiderman series, if they haven't already...)
