Surprised it hasn’t turned up on a streamer somewhere. I’m game if I see it pop up anywhere. :)
If it's weird, it's on Tubi...That's where I managed to catch most of it

AND dig up all those repressed memories of the original show, but it's pretty much meh.
Definitely a foreign release (the dub sounded British), and aiming for a faux-Shrek hipster safety net, with Princess Dawn now a snarky character bored with being a princess, and pop-ref gags in place.

Again, going from what I remember thinking from the trailer, I can only guess which country is still nostalgic for the old series.

Funny it's not the only film based on a old show most in america don't remember getting a name change in america!

This one got a full wide release also in america but changed the name from the show it's based on, replaced all the uk voices and added shrek movie references and burp jokes!

It bombed in america.

Real name is magic roundabout movie. Based on the show that in america aired on nickelodeon in the 80s. You think airing on nick would give it a bit of a bump but nope.

Show intro--

UK trailer--

American "shrek" trailer--

The UK Magic Roundabout, based on a beloved show we used to watch as kids (I had a Zebedee hatstand!) is a very fun watch with its UK dub. I think I’ve seen the US Chevy dub and it was indeed painful. Unaware of a UK Blu, but the 2-Disc DVD is worth hunting down (also with some original show episodes, which was — fun fact! — narrated by Emma's dad, Eric Thompson! It was originally a French series, but he took the footage and added his own voices to it. The theme tune was an earworm that every kid could hum in the late 1970s!

In america it came on nick in its first years first than was made a segment on nicks preschool show block pinwheel along with Paddington, chupi chupo (bet i misspelled that) bunny with a suitcase, curious George and others and stayed there till pinwheel went off in the early 90s replaced by nick jr. Ironic pinwheel itself went from a block to an hour long show itself later.

Most people don't even know that Rankin-Bass's grueling 90-minute "Rudolph & Frosty's Christmas in July"--which was meant to be the final epic Endgame to the connected R-B Holiday Special Universe--was originally groomed to be a theatrical movie:

It actually was given a limited theatrical engagement in July 1979 before premiering on ABC later that year.
