Ratatouille

Post by Lino » January 17th, 2006, 8:13 pm

Pixar possible disney-free film Ratatouille is a bit sketchy right now, basicly a rat living in an upscale french restuant. A exstatic cook is likely to be in the fim, Michael Giacchino is to compose with Brad Garrett in the lead. It will be interesting to see if pixar still prevails dispite d'works releasing the first of a CGI rat genre, "flushed Away".

Honestly I prefer ratatouille, I just dont like the look of flushed away, its a shame about the disaster at aardamen so I do wish them well.

Hmmmm....will it be the French cook from Little Mermaid?
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

It's Pixar so it's gotta have SOMETHING French - so why not.

Hehe :) Now it sounds rather im-possible ;)
I hope that more future Disney/Pixar film plans will be revealed soon, so we will know much more about Ratatouille and further movies. I'm really excited about pixar's response for DramWorks and Disney's own 3d division offensive for upcoming years.

A late switch at this stage?

Surely the film has been under Jan's direction for at least two-three years, so there must be trouble somewhere.

Maybe Brad is a co-director?

Brad Bird is directing "Ratatouille"!

Post by Wonderlicious » March 14th, 2006, 12:31 pm

BBC News wrote:The Incredibles creator Brad Bird is taking on a restaurant-dwelling rat for his next project.

He will once again be working for Pixar on the animated film Ratatouille, about a mouse who lives in Paris.

The project had been around for several years and it was originally thought Czech animator Jan Pinkava would be directing it.

Work has begun on the complex animation for Ratatouille and it is due for release in 2007.

Bird was behind the hugely successful The Incredibles cartoon, writing and directing the film which he had conceived 12 years before it came to the big screen.

The film used ground-breaking animation technology.

Bird had previously worked on The Iron Giant and Steven Spielberg's Amazing stories series.

Pixar's next release will be Cars, a film which was pushed back from November 2005 to June this year to capitalise on the US summer holiday season.

Disney and Pixar severed ties in 2004 but the firm has since been bought by Disney in a $7.4bn (£4.2bn) deal.

(So is it about a rat or a mouse? They refere to it as both but they are two different things!)

Read this for a day or two now - apparently there were problems and Brad has fully taken over.

Wow - that's a late stage switch!
