I can remember when TV Guide's 70's-heyday magazine articles (in the slick pages surrounding the listings) were not only actor interviews, but news articles discussing the FCC, TV violence, educational programming and kids, and the effect corporations were having on big sports--
Which always sounded important on those TV ads for the magazine, with the creepy music:

But then they were bought out by the VCR+ company (so that they could publish the VCR+ code numbers), which turned the magazine articles into non-stop Boomer Nostalgia lists of the 20 Sexiest Stars and 100 Greatest TV Episodes...
