Funny…whenever I think about the Addamses, the first one that pops to mind is Gomez, mostly because of John Astin.

Well, of course--You were raised on the SERIES, not 90's Gen-Y Barry Sonnenfeld fantasies that you wished you could be as goth-girl and crab at the stupid un-PC world like Christina Ricci.

Knowing that Marx Brothers writer Nat Perrin produced the 60's TV series, makes those "Is John Astin playing Groucho?" theories a lot more plausible--
Right down to Gomez's "Tish, you spoke FRENCH!" bursts of passion suspiciously resembling Groucho leaping on Margaret Dumont every time she mentioned her money. ("Can't you see I'm trying to tell you I love you??")

So x-men meets harry potter meets owl house meets worst witch meets monster high with the addams family and a murder mystery added it.

Was not expecting this take on the addams family. Got me curious.

Oh, so they’ve totally blown the whole Addams concept apart? That makes it something completely different that I’m kind of less interested in seeing now.

New trailer, featuring a Ricci appearance.

I've been quite interested since the first trailer and am rather looking forward to seeing if Burton and company can pull it off.

I still think the whole special school thing is a shame, since it robs the Addams' of exactly what makes them special (if they’re all kooky, then no one is, right?), but must admit this trailer had got me a little more interested again.

Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester is pretty good casting.

Was this any good in the end? Jen wanted to start it a few weeks back but we did t get to it yet, and I lost a bit of enthusiasm when I saw Burton only directed the first half of the season and kind of made it feel hollow to promote the show as his to begin with. Wonder if he’ll stick around for any of Season Two, or just a grab a chunk of change to slap his name on it as a producer…?

...Oh, come now, what would the "director" of Nightmare Before Christmas do?

Neither he or anyone else ever claimed he was was the director of NB4X.

And yet, most people seem to think he did direct it. At my staff Christmas party, we often have a trivia game, and more than once that popped up as one of the questions... and they accepted the WRONG answer. Naturally, I corrected them each time it happened.

As for Wednesday, I haven't gotten to it yet, other than the first ten minutes.

Yes, he's often mistaken, because his name is above the title as creator, and he’s known for being a director, so the lesser informed put two and two together and come up short to get three. Just like most animation is made by Disney! ;)

I actually liked the series. Tim Burton's twisted imagination combined with the Addams' eccentricity is something. It's a match made in goth heaven.
By the way, have you ever tried to watch turkish series with english subtitles? They're an absolute binge-watching treat! If you're into that, you should check them out. They've got a bunch of quality active series that you can stream and enjoy. I've been hooked on some of their shows, and I gotta say, they're pretty awesome!
Can't wait to see what Burton brings to the Addams Family universe in the second season.
