Casper the ghost live action "horror" series!
Well, when i think casper the friendly ghost "stranger things horror" is not the first thing that comes to mind but looks like we are getting that! Deadline reports peacock is working with universal and dreamworks to make a roger rabbit like live action and animated series about a family that has to solve the mysteries of a creepy town! They have help from casper and his uncles! More strange is it's getting worked on by the writer of Hannibal! Not sure if this is "kids" horror like goosebumps or "adult" horror like that sabrina show but strange choice for casper.

Remember when casper, wendy and hot stuff were superheroes fighting monsters?

I don't personally enjoy the 'dark occult' takes of The Chilling Tales of Sabrina or AfterLife with Archie .. but I don't begrudge their existence. I do admit that both feature very 'nicely-drawn' art, for what they are.
As I've often espoused on this forum, there's more than one valid way to tell any story .. and I applaud any different approach to a 'timeless' tale, even if it doesn't necessarily 'speak' directly to me.
A new 'take' doesn't invalidate or replace the previous versions of the story, after all -- and -- every once in awhile, I'll find that I enjoy both the new and old versions of the story .. in different ways, or for different reasons!

Still, there's a very thin line between "Hipster-comic rebooting of an ancient property that needed a periodic jumpstarting, and the parent company didn't particularly care how", and that openly contemptuous DC/Hanna-Barbera atrocity.
A generation that remembers public-domain cartoons shown ad nauseam on local stations has no particular love for the Friendly One, and while this smacks more of Buffy and Sabrina than of the Tennessee-Williams Snagglepuss, it doesn't exactly project sincerity.
(Seriously, who even REMEMBERS the lil' devil Hot Stuff, apart from that abandoned DreamWorks attempt to exploit Classic Media holdings?)

(Not to ramble too far off topic, but those DC/Hanna-Barbera books were largely GOLD, IMHO. Flintstones, Future Quest, and Jetsons were all great, and stayed true to the concepts. And, while Snagglepuss certainly was pretty "out there" for the property, it was also very well written and affecting. I was, admittedly, less fond of Wacky Raceland, Dastardly and Muttley, and Ruff and Reddy. I still have yet to read Scooby Apocalypse, but it looks fun.)

(I completely agree!)
They should've made a Richie Rich show then the finale could've seen him murdered and poof season 2 is Casper!

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
