The Mitchells Vs. the Machines (formally Connected)
Sony's The Mitchell's vs the Machines is now titled Connected. It's from the people behind The Lego Movie, Spider-Verse, and Gravity Falls... so it's got a great pedigree!

Re: Connected
Shame about the title. The original was pretty cool and sci-fi-ish, new one is pretty generic. Honestly, I thought the thread was about some new fangled doohickey before clicking.
That aside, I think it has potential. Sounds fun!

Re: Connected
The original logo looked like an old 80's action-figure toon...Transformers or Go-Bots, can't figure which.

Re: Connected
I can see a little Go-Bots, which makes me miss the old logo even more.

Re: Connected
Finally a look at the characters, from Sony's attempt to keep up with Disney's online marketing:

(So, Peter Rabbit 2 IS going directly to digital by this point, right?)

Re: Connected
Delayed. No new release date, but they’re still planning to release it this year. We'll see about that...

Re: Connected
And straight to Netflix it goes...which if it's anything like Shaun sadly means no physical release.

Re: The Mitchells Vs. the Machines (formally Connected)
I’d still expect a physical release eventually.
StudioCanal doesn’t have a de facto US distributor, so a physical release for Shaun would have meant a new deal with someone who may have thought it wasn’t worth doing once Netflix nabbed the rights.
But Sony have a solid physical business and will want to maximize revenue (which they keep) from those who don’t pay for 'Flix, just as Universal is doing with News Of The World.

Finally! Shame no 4K, at the moment at least, but good to see it get a disc release.
