Well, it’s 50s small town Americana, right? The template for all of Walt's cozy homespun warmth and, therefore by extension, the "modern" fairytale feel…

Re: Enchanted
When I saw Enchanted, I recall wishing so hard that someone would make a theatrical I Dream of Jeannie, and cast Amy Adams in the lead role.
Watching her in that Tonight Show clip .. she still has that 'Barbara Eden' vibe; only now, it's 1970s Barbara Eden.
so-o .. Harper Valley P.T.A. remake..?

Back when the Nora Ephron-ized Nicole Kidman "Bewitched" happened, Sony was on a push for rebooting their Screen Gems TV brandname (mostly Bewitched/Jeannie for the female demo), and was all ready to cast Lisa Kudrow as Jeannie.
But...then the Nora Ephron-ized "Bewitched" happened.
Now, with the Franchise Game, 20's Sony had been thinking about getting back into the Screen Gems IP-reboot game again, with that failed chik-flik Charlie's Angels you probably didn't see, but...then the Blumhouse horror-movie Fantasy Island happened.
So much for an Amy Adams Jeannie. Again.

Re: Enchanted
Screen Gems has been an ongoing Sony brand (their "independent" Focus or Searchlight equivalent, if you like) for years. It’s never gone away! Ironically, Charlie's Angels was never actually a Screen Gems show…

Re: Enchanted
That does all look very promising, but I hope the entire budget isn't going into the live-action sequences, resulting in the animation looking "cheaper" for want of a better term. It really is a shame Disney isn't giving this a theatrical launch. It seems money is being left on the table.
Of course, I've also heard a rumor that, which sounds horrible (at least on paper) and hopefully won't be part of the finished film.
