Off the top of my head, do a Google search for "Roadside Romeo" and click on Images. Also check out Videos for clips and trailers: the dogs walk — and dance — on all fours, and on their back legs, use their paws like hands, and a couple of them even wear specs.

Re: Getting reference in drawing canines
One thing I want to do is see how to make a male canine character look like he's in his late 20's with a rugged build and a nice face and smooth cheeks. I've been trying to draw him, but it's been a little difficult for me to create that kind of look.

Well, I am set with creative software: Blender, GameMaker Studio 2, and Krita. I have GMS2 for a year-long license, while the other two are open-source programs.

Getting reference in drawing canines
So, how do I blend human features like eyes and eyebrows to a canine character without it looking creepy?

How do you give cartoon canines features like eyebrows and manes without making them too humanlike?

I guess…we just don’t know.
You’ve been asking this question for months, and we just don’t have an answer for you. You’re going to have to be creative, come up with your own unique ideas, and figure it out for yourself.

I have been looking at stills from RR, and I've been looking at the bodies of the dogs, especially in different poses.

I think the animation for Roadside Romeo looks strange, but I think the poses the dogs get on two legs seem interesting. I also need to study their "handapaws"* more.
*Handapaws (hand-a-paws) (noun) -- Paws in anthropomorphic canines that also serve as hands when needed.

Is something like this passable?

Anything is passable if that’s the style you want to go for, though I’m not sure I appreciate the language on one of those poses, as "mild" as it may be…

Is this another good reference for canines standing up on two legs?

Doesn’t seem particularly inspired to me, no. Sorry!

Re: Getting reference in drawing canines
It's quite hard to find references online. I wonder if there are any websites where you can see drawings that I could use for reference. That one picture full of those little sketches (including the one with a wolf sitting down and having some coffee is at least a helpful reference for me. I've seen a much more realistic paper of sketches online somewhere, (though be advised that there's a scrotum present), and having "handapaws" with small pads on the ends of the fingers is a great, realistic detail.

Re: Getting reference in drawing canines
If you can’t find any then you’ll need to make up you own references. Combine your own ideas with various inspirations you can find elsewhere, since you surely have an idea of what you are looking for. If you don’t, or you just want to find the perfect thing to rip-off, then you’re not going to get very far in making any kind of progress…
