I have a hunch this will simply premier on TV over here. Maybe a limited Fathom event, but I don't see a wide release happening.

GKids and Funimation basically run Fathom's business now, a limited screening's pretty much When-Not-If.
Frankly, thought we had one already, even with the plexes just opening.

It came in first place in Australia! A anime in first place! That should be a big clue to give it a full wide release in america but america treats anime like trash so i'm sure it will be for three days on a weekend afternoon limited release!

Completely off-topic, but as long as we're discussing anime features:
Thanks to their connections with whatever Discotek digs up out of the archive for Blu-ray, Crunchyroll's streaming site just added dubs and subs of the five Urusei Yatsura movies (fans don't count the wretched "sixth" one), free-with ads or premium without: https://www.crunchyroll.com/urusei-yatsura-movies
This is a MAJOR deal--Considering that all but one of the movies have been out of print for almost fifteen years. Old-school fans have been trying to reawaken this show out of "Bought by small garage company and went OOP never to be seen again" limbo, and to convince fans that there was more to this series than just the manga and a handful of hideous early first-season TV episodes.
Up until now, all us OG fans have had to illustrate our late-80's/early-90's US-founding love of the series to the new kids was the second movie, "Beautiful Dreamer", which, while it's still literally considered one of the ten classic anime features ever made, might be a little difficult to start on out of the blue.
I remember one Japanese fandom satire that kidded emerging late-80's US college-campus anime/manga fans, portraying them as a nation of obsessed Lum Invader stalkers. At the time, we found that hysterical, because it was SO TRUE.

Content is content...as much as there is a thirst for it, they’ll find a way to make all of this stuff available!
