Two oz films at the same time!
WB has started production on animated film toto and has handed the oz remake to new line! New line also has the ok to use mgm stuff like the ruby slippers also but sounds like this will be more based on the book with some mgm stuff added!

And, like Wicked, I'm guessing a LOT more MGM than Baum.
But considering it's New Line, and not technically Warner (yes, Bendacey, Warner owns New Line, but they're still independently creating their own product and starving for a brandname, which is why we got that Shaft reboot), I'm guessing this is trying to rub the book in Warner's Oz-franchising face, since L. Frank Baum is public domain, and saying "We can do it too!"
