Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
Funny you mention the casting, because Fowl switched everything around.
Judi Dench plays a male character, with a gravelly voice (why hire her and then give her a ridiculous voice...?) A black guy plays a Japanese guy. A white gal plays a brown gal. The dad is around, and the mom is dead, just basically the opposite of the book.
And... making Artemis not a criminal mastermind erases the one thing that made the book unique to start with. But, in a ridiculous added line at the end, he declares himself a criminal mastermind anyway, even though he has only been presented as a smart, snotty kid.
The rights were bought for a recognizable name, but no one seemed too interested in actually presenting the book, except in the bare sketches of its plot.
That's Hollywood for ya.
Also, though I found Cinderella boring, Branagh did do a good job presenting Thor to the world. Fowl is such a mess in its editing and presentation that executive interference seems to be the more likely cuplrit in determining just why Fowl is as foul as it is.

That was supposed to be a twist? I thought we were meant to understand that the Chancellor would eventually become the Emperor and that we would see that happen during the trilogy. I mean they shared the same last name and played by the same actor.

Yeah. Totally not a twist.
I was more surprised when that nice little "yippee" kid turned into the big bad dude!

And actually, Branagh's "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" isn't too bad, really--It was savaged for not following in Francis Coppola's "Dracula" footsteps, but there was one obligatory scene where Branagh tried to copy Coppola's "artsy" Dracula style, and it doesn't work. He's better off just doing his fun all-in set-design opulence.Randall wrote: ↑June 15th, 2020, 9:42 amAlso, though I found Cinderella boring, Branagh did do a good job presenting Thor to the world. (And I should probably look up his "Murder on the Orient Express" out of idle curiosity, but beware his messy "Sleuth".)
Disney felt Fowl was "their" private pot of gold, since the book came out from Hyperion, but as a Potter knockoff, it's almost a decade too late to the party. Not that that's going to help D+'s hopes of reviving Fox's Percy Jackson, either.

The roger rabbit shorts and brave little tailor mickey mouse short are no longer hidden in the extras. They are now in the shorts section! The cat and the king is still stuck in the mary poppins extra page however.

Infinity War, really? Here in the UK we’ve had War and Endgame at least a month now.
Looking forward to the Unknown series...but still need to watch FII...!!

Netflix had the Infinity War rights till now in america. Yes endgame was on disney plus but not the movie that was right before it. In fact all those disney films (tarzan, tinkerbell) were on netflix.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
They should retitle one of those to While You Were Streaming...
On Witch Mountain, to be fair, it’s only two movies, a TV movie and a remake. It’s not like all four outings are part of the same timeline or universe.
