It is very hard to believe that Avery's stuff has not been released. That's like holding back "Gone With the Wind."

Funny thing is tex avery shorts have been released on dvd in sets overseas but not here in America!
Plus boomerang has the shorts as well so they are using them so why not a dvd or Blu-ray release?

Overseas release.

I believe (only from memory) that that French set isn’t remastered, using the same masters as the LD set. And I *think* they have forced subtitles? Certainly, those are the reasons I never bothered to pick up an imported copy, as nice looking as it is!

No forced subtitles. Supposedly none by default. The price was always an issue, but the main reasons I never bit the bullet was it's region locked, quality and edits are carried over from LaserDisc, four shorts missing... and the hints that a region 1 release was in the offing. Yeah.

Looks like it's a first volume, in likely a.... three volume set, perhaps?
Should be up for order within 1-3 weeks, I'd guess.

Yep, totally looks like it says "Volume 1". Would be cool to offer a box to enclose the volumes!

Knew it! Excellent news...and to think that I just pulled out the LD to play a cartoon with the main feature for our movie night just now! Actually, it didn’t look too bad for a near thirty year old disc, but these will look and sound awesome, I’m sure. Hopefully these will be chronological issues too, as with Popeye. Very cool...at last!

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!
I'd have rather seen the Complete Droopy set re-released by itself in addition to the miscellaneous MGM Tex, but this is Warner, and they're nervous that paying customers won't buy a vintage Tex set without the toons they know from Roger Rabbit.
And now to keep up pressure for that Tex At Warner set...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!
Complete Droopy did get a DVD reissue, and it’s sales of that which probably pulled the trigger on this. Making a chronological collection does make more sense, since Droopy will be sprinkled throughout. Those that just wanted those toons on their own might not have come back to buy future non-Droop volumes, actually making a Warner set even less likely!
