Re: Official Star Wars Thread
Agreed. I was so pleased when he was announced, and can only hope he fixes, as best as can be hoped for given the circumstances, the clusterfudge that was The Last Jedi.
Not liking that title, though. "Rise Of..." anything always sounds so fanboyish, and I’ve never understood using it for the end of a series, since a rise indicates a beginning with more of a resulting outcome to the rise that has occurred. In a weird way, this might have been a better title for The Last Jedi, swapping that one out for literally the last movie, making things much more dramatic. Of course, the slightly cryptic approach means we can’t guess what it truly means until December 20th, but it isn’t the OMG mindblower that will make things unbearable waiting until that date that I was hoping for.

Oh my gosh when I posted the link to the anti-JJ essay on the other thread, I didn't even realize the Ep IX trailer would come out today! Just for the record, I enjoyed TFA a lot, although I personally prefer TLJ. I really only posted the link because I thought it might start an interesting convo.

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Cool about a real trailer coming soon!
Also, there’s this:
Keep in mind these are ONLY rumors. But they could very well end up having at least some validity. So....
POSSIBLE MAJOR SPOILERS IF YOU CLICK ON THIS LINK!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Well if this is his plan, he’s waited a heck of a long time to do anything about it!

"You must face Sidious as I faced Vader!"
So, we're basically forgetting that she already faced Snoke as Luke faced Sidious?
(And...pretty much EXACTLY like Luke faced Sidious?)
Good--Then that means that we essentially are forgetting everything that happened in Last Jedi. All's as it should be.

It also happens to coincide with Carrie Fisher's birthday. How fitting.
