Star vs. The Forces of Evil

Post by Dan » April 4th, 2015, 2:56 pm

The lovely new Disney XD series that just premiered this past week.

In the dimension world of Mewni, it is tradition for the Queen to pass down the royal magic wand to the Princess on the latter's 14th birthday. Unfortunately, Star Butterfly is not the type of prim, proper Princess to handle something as simple as say responsibility. Coupled with being extremely overly excited and her inability to master the wand, thereby causing destruction like setting rainbows on fire, Star is sent to the dimension called Earth and live there until she can better control herself. Of course, that's not to say the monsters she's angered over the years of fighting them freely don't want to try to exact some form of revenge against her and steal the magic wand for their evil deeds.

I take it we're using "Lovely" in an ironic sense?
One generally doesn't hear that word in connection with Disney XD. :?

(And how did she get Card Captor Sakura's third-season wand?)

I was thinking more "lovely" in the ironic sense that Star's got the best of intentions, but ends up leaving chaos in her wake.

As for the wand looking like it came from Cardcaptor Sakura, the wand changes based on the personality of the holder.

By the by, that's Alan Tudyk voicing the King. He also voices the show's primary villain, Ludo.
